I doubt you'll ever have to rip out the pages - should be enough to press the open book down flat on the scanner as it scans. I suppose you might damage the spine, bending it really flat. Even if you do get a shadow along the edge of the page it can be sorted out with a paint/photo ed. application.
Well, that's my experience, anyway ^^.

I debind my manga for it gives me the best scans.

I scan regular pages at 360 dpi, and colour pages/covers at 600 dpi. I usually then batch-resize to a pixel height of 1500.

You can scan without debinding, but you have to press VERY hard and evenly on your book with a good amount of weight.

Hmm okay I have been trying to find the section where Crisis posted the thing on how to scan and all but I can't seem to find it. Now all I know is that it is in the section of Blood Hound..now for some odd reason I can't seem to find it >.< Now either it got deleted or something cause I went back to the very first post lol. But then again it may be me cause it is 12:38am where I am and I am tired so probably I just missed over it or something else But all I know is that it is in the Blood Hound Thread...
